PILOT #1

EISENERZ

STEIERMARK - AUSTRIA

Eisenerz is an Austrian municipality in the Land of Styria, not far from Graz. It has just over 4,000 inhabitants and is located along the Steirische Eisenstrasse (Styrian iron road), a communication route that connects Steyr (Oberösterreich) to Traboch (Steiermark), near Leoben.
Iron has been quarried in this part of Europe since the Middle Ages and the Erzberg (1,466 m) which stands out in front of those who travel from Hieflau to Eisenerz, bears witness to this.
